Malabrigo Rios: New Colors!

I don't know if you've knit with Malabrigo Rios before, but I really like it, my new favorite go-to worsted weight wool. It's great for gifts because it's a Superwash Wool, so no risk of felting! It comes in both almost-solid and variegated colorways, so it should work for any kind of pattern you want!

Last week we got a big box full of brand new colorways of Rios, Check them out:

Lots of good stuff! Come on in and check them out soon before they are all gone! We also got these colorways in their sport-weight version, Arroyo!

Royal Petites

We love Blue Sky Alpacas here at Anacapa Fine Yarns. They make great yarns, and what I really appreciate about them is that they really put a lot of thought into turning your knitting time into an experience! They really know how to get me, cute packaging! You have to see their new "Royal Petites" line, it's to die for!

First, they have a gorgeous new 100% Royal Alpaca yarn, these are such little beauties!
Each ball is 100 yards of luscious alpaca goodness. You have to come into the shop just to pet it, it's so soft!

They've also designed these adorable little patterns to go with the yarn. There's the Empress Set, Mintini Mitts, Countess Mitts, and the Westminster Hat. All are cute designs, but check out how the patterns come:

You get a beautiful pattern folded up in it's little envelope with a big picture of the design on one side and the pattern on the other, and you also get a tiny print of the Alpacas that your yarn comes from. How cute is that?? The whole line is so vintage and adorable, I can't take it!

Gentleman's Frippery

Lorna's Laces new colors are part of a collection called "Gentleman's Frippery", all great colors for guys, or girls!

Here's Waistcoat:

This is a really nice dark teal-blue color. I like that this is an almost solid color, so it would be great for cables, lace, or a texture pattern.

Cummerbund:
Cummerbund is a kind of orangey-red color, another semi-solid colorway. I really like the warm tones, and I think it would combine well with the next color!

Pocket Square:
I love this multi! It's Taupey grey/brown, orange, grey/blue, and a rusty red color. Manly, but I think it's quite pretty!

Bow Tie:
Navy, grey/brown, and rusty red. More of a subdued colorway, a very handsome one!

Spats:
Golden yellow, taupe, cream, and navy. This colorway is a little brighter, I think the cream color really livens it up!

And last, Ascot:
Greens! I know my Gentleman would love this particular colorway, and I think it would still work to shop a stitch pattern!

All these pictures are of Lorna's Laces Solemate, but we also have these colors in their worsted weight superwash; Shepherd's Worsted.

Pretty Totes

I was perusing the newest Vogue Knitting and was admiring the new Amy Butler tote bag designs, daydreaming about stuffing my latest project into one.
Then, practically the next day, they appeared at the store. With the usual Butler quality and design attention, they are a worthy bag indulgence!
(There are only these two.)
Other really great bags arrived at the same time. If they don't fly out the door before I get to them, I will show them to you later this week.
